Dear SUHSD Board of Education,
My name is [REDACTED] and I am a 9th grader at TIDE Academy. I chose to attend TIDE because I heard the people were nice. I have had problems with bullying, so when I heard that there was a school somewhat known for having a great community, I chose it immediately. Another reason I came to TIDE was because of the small class sizes as I very often get stressed when in big classes. I believe that TIDE should remain open because I have developed significant relationships with students and staff that I do not want to lose. Another reason is that this school has allowed me to become the happiest version of myself I have ever been during my school career.
For the first time in my school career, I look forward to coming to school. I have built relationships that I don't want to lose. I talk with people, share music with them, and care about them deeply. I say hi to tons of people every day and due to the small school and the amazing community, I know most of them! This school has allowed me to enhance my understanding and love for computers with their CTE pathways and allow me to be excited for the future.
Not all students are comfortable with big classes, large campuses and tons of people. TIDE Academy allows those students to learn and make friends in a more comfortable environment. I don't know what I would do if TIDE closed, but it would not be good. This is the first time in a long time I have been really happy, please don't take that away from me, I don't know what else to say.
As I said before, I am really happy here, and I don't want to change schools again. I love my teachers, I love my friends, I love the environment, I love the community, I love it all. This school is single handedly the best school I have ever been to. And you know what's cool? I don't think I am alone. We had the opportunity to write a letter in Nucleus today, though I was going to write one no matter what because I really care about this school. Please do not take away the opportunity of this school from the future freshmen because this is not all about me. While I am part of this school now, it's the future that matters so much more.
Sincerely,
[REDACTED]
